Saturday Shenanigans and A very happy memory from my youth
Happy Saturday!
Coffee at my favorite coffee shop before getting started on work this weekend. I hate that I had to fill so many hours with company obligations but it’s just necessary right now with all that I have on my plate. I did make myself a promise, though that I would do a few things this weekend that I would love. Getting to read a few chapters out of the book at my favorite coffee shop was definitely one of them. And yes, I saw the misspelling of my name lol it happens all the time! After finishing up at the coffee shop, I made sure to go and vote. There were no lines today and I’m glad that I got the early voting done. I couldn’t help myself and had to wear my Taylor Swift shirt lol am I the only one who is not a fan of the Stickers for Clay County this election? After finally knocking out a few hours of work I got some sunshine on a 5 mile walk. I absolutely love that I’m finally able to walk for exercise! I’m still not quite where I’m able to run at 100% but I know that day is coming very soon and I’m planning something special to commemorate my recovery. Ok let’s talk about a happy memory. This one’s kind of silly but it’s on the schedule of things to talk about so here it goes. Also, what is considered youth considering I’m still young? Lol ok but let’s rewind to my very first crush, I remember feeling butterflies in my stomach like I’d never experienced before when at summer camp in 2004, the boy I was head over heels for told one of my friends that he liked me. It happened in chapel right after our afternoon activities when he wouldn’t stop flirting with me which of course, thirteen year old Carolyne was eating up. Idk how long I held onto the note that I got from him but I kept it for years. Did we ever date? Not even close lol we were great friends for a long time though. The girls he dated never liked me as you can imagine. I took him to my senior banquet and we joked that we would get married one day if one of us wasn’t married by the age of 30. Thank goodness God intervened lol because our personalities as adults are so polar opposite and homebody has absolutely stopped running track if you know what I mean lol I saw him for the first time in 7 years at my brothers wedding and boy….did he pale in comparison to the way he looked standing next to Matthew as a groomsman. I know I’m getting a little bit off-topic, but honestly seeing him stand next to my husband was such a surreal sight to see. He was the boy I greatly cared about as a young girl, and I thought that maybe we would be together one day, but God absolutely knew better. It’s incredible how anyone who ever had my heart before Matthew just seems like a fleeting memory of a passing dream. Even though that happy memory was 20 years ago and that guys long gone and out of my life, there’s something so special about those early coming of age years where our experiences turn us into the adults we are meant to be.
Something absolutely amazing happened this week and I’m not sure when I’m going to be able to share it. I definitely don’t want to jinx myself anymore and set myself up for disappointment lol but what has happened in my life this week has been nothing short of an absolute miracle that only God could have worked out. I’m almost afraid to get excited about it but here I am… foolishly getting excited.
If you’re still reading this, lol don’t forget to check out my other tab where I’ve uploaded a video and plan to upload some more. Who needs YouTube when I can control the privacy of my videos here lol time to make dinner. Until tomorrow!
