Rain, Research and Shipment Notifications

It was one of those Wednesdays.⁣

⁣⁣You know the kind — rainy enough to ruin your hair, but not your mood. The kind where the coffee hits just right, the to-do list somehow gets shorter (miracles do happen), and your inbox plays nice… mostly.⁣

⁣⁣Somewhere between the fourth email marked “URGENT” (that absolutely wasn’t) and my third lap around the office trying to find a working pen, I found myself thinking:⁣

⁣This is the closest I’ve come to feeling like a high-functioning adult all week.⁣

⁣⁣By sundown, the skies were still moody, the workday technically over — but of course, science waits for no one. Especially not when a new phase 3 trial is about to grace my site with its glamorous, protocol-heavy presence.⁣

⁣⁣Enter: a night call with one of my favorite nephrologists (yes, I have a favorite — doesn’t everyone?), casually joined by a pharma sponsor who, let’s be honest, probably has a spreadsheet for everything, including their own charm.⁣

⁣⁣And there we were — three professionals, one clinical trial, and about a dozen acronyms — casually plotting the next big thing in renal research like it was a dinner party seating chart.⁣

⁣⁣Was I in my pajamas? Possibly.⁣

⁣Did I light a candle for ambiance? Obviously.⁣

⁣Did I end the call feeling smarter, buzzier, and just the right kind of nerdy? Without a doubt.⁣

⁣⁣Rain outside. Grit inside. And a little sparkle on the horizon.⁣

⁣⁣Oh and Japanese to go on our rainy night in. No picture. Just lots of love and snuggles with my boys while we watch the new Son of Sam documentary on Netflix. ⁣

⁣⁣⁣Can you tell I’m married to a former detective? Who doesn’t love the sound of murder as you’re falling asleep? ⁣

⁣⁣⁣Final note. I 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 got my shipment notification from Barnes and Noble. Hurry up weekend, I have lots of running and reading to do! ⁣

⁣Life is good~
