Friday-Eve and some new Race training kicks

No thoughtfully constructed blog post today — just trying to keep my head above water lol.

Still waiting for a chapter to officially close at work, and once it does, I’ll be ready to talk more openly about everything that’s been going on. All good things, just stressful things. The kind of things that add a few extra gray hairs with each hair appointment (shoutout to Kayla for keeping me in business! lol).

In more exciting news, I stopped by 1st Place Sports after work and picked up some brand-new running shoes! Check out these bad boys — they’ll be my training shoes for the next 10 weeks, and I’ll snag the color that matches my race singlet just before Chicago.

Speaking of which… 10 weeks from Sunday, the final countdown begins! I’m cautiously optimistic this time around after everything I went through last year, but I can already picture myself standing in the corral, waiting for Group F to take off. I know there will be tears — happy ones at the start, and even happier ones at the finish.

Chicago will likely be my only Abbott World Marathon for the next few years until I qualify for Boston, but I’m totally okay with that. In the meantime, I’ve got my eye on a few other bucket list races I can’t wait to run. And right after Chicago? I’m doing something I haven’t done in years. No secrets being spilled on this page just yet… but I might let this one be a little mystery. πŸ˜‰

If you’re looking for a hint, scroll way back on my Instagram — somewhere between 2020 and 2021. That’s all I’m saying for now!

PS: To the hackers of the internet — please kindly gtfo of my Facebook. Dealing with attempted logins last week (and again today) was annoying as hell. I had a string of break-in attempts to my Gmail a few months ago too — which I remember ranting about here — but thankfully, Google security is elite. πŸ™ Stay safe out there, friends… and protect your passwords lol.

Come back tomorrow!

Life is Good~
