Three Weeks Later, Still Running on Chicago Time πŸƒπŸΌ‍♀️

I can’t believe it’s already been three weeks since the Chicago Marathon. Somehow, the days have both flown by and stretched endlessly between recovery runs, work deadlines, and trying to remember what “normal” life feels like when you’re not carb-loading for 26.2 miles.

Today was one of those steady hum kind of days — back-to-back projects, endless emails, the glow of two monitors and too much coffee. I finally wrapped up work later than usual and still had a grocery run waiting for me. But in a quiet little nod to the race that’s still living rent-free in my head, I threw on my Chicago finisher jacket before heading out.

Because honestly? If I survived 26.2 miles through the streets of Chicago, I can survive a Publix checkout line on a Thursday night.

After Publix, I made the rounds to a few other grocery stores hunting for deals on Halloween candy — because somehow, tomorrow is already Halloween. The neighborhood’s gearing up, and the aisles were pure chaos, but I couldn’t help feeling that familiar October buzz of change in the air.

This weekend’s forecast is calling for a real Florida cold front — finally! Crisp air, perfect for running. We’ve invited a few friends from the beach to join us for our Fleming Island run on Saturday morning, and I can already picture the cool air, chatter between miles, and post-run coffee plans that always feel a little extra special when the temperatures drop.

Three weeks later, I’m still wearing the jacket, still running, still finding little ways to keep that Chicago energy alive — one grocery run (and one candy aisle) at a time. πŸ™️πŸŽƒ☕️

Funny how small the world can feel sometimes — especially when you least expect it.

Come back tomorrow!
