π§ Marathon Week Reflections
Lately, it’s become pretty obvious that I don’t make as much time to blog as I used to. It’s kind of wild how busy life has gotten this past year — and in the best way. I don’t need the creative writing space to center myself as much anymore, because God has brought such incredible peace into my life. I can only praise Him for that. π
So, what’s everyone up to today? It’s a nasty day outside, which makes it perfect for baking — and, well, it’s baking and marathon week! π☕️
Here’s the part where I have to share an uplifting praise: running in the rain has always been one of my favorite things. All summer long and throughout this training cycle, I hadn’t had a single chance to enjoy a long run in the pouring rain… until today. On the last two miles of my 10-miler, the skies opened up, and I couldn’t help but feel like it was God working this out just for me.
I’ve been struggling with doubt these past couple of weeks — worrying about another injury and all the things outside of my control. But I’ve been drawing closer to God in my daily devotions, and today’s run felt like a gentle send-off from Him. A quiet nudge that said, “Hey, everything is going to be okay. And because I know how much you love it, here’s a thunder shower for your last Sunday run before the big race I miraculously got you back into.”
I continue to stand in awe of His goodness, His daily mercy, and the ways He reminds me how abundantly He’s blessed my life.
One week from today, all the training, all the sweat, tears, pain, and anticipation will step into the starting corral and be put to the test.
Lord willing, in all things. π
