Memorial Day Recap!
Started this Memorial Day with a steamy 5K — emphasis on steamy. I was 45 seconds slower than last years’ time, but honestly, I’m not mad about it. The heat and humidity was absolutely no joke this morning, and I’m proud I showed up and pushed through. I had a fever this past weekend and didn’t even feel like running today so a finish of 23:02 I will take all day. Plus, Matt and I both snagged 1st in our age group (and so did a few race team friends!), which always feels like a win no matter the clock.
The rest of the day was everything you want a holiday to be: lake house, iced tea, and lots of time with family. The nephews had me sprinting through the water like it was a second race of the day, and let’s just say my tan lines are now very much established. Peep the post on Instagram for some cute family shots.
We capped things off with dinner at Salsas — because nothing says “earned it” like bottomless chips and queso — and hopefully we’ll be off to bed early……work week starts tomorrow.
Grateful for the freedom to move, the people to move with, and the quiet moments in between. Hope your Memorial Day was full of love, sunshine, and sweet memories. Come back tomorrow for the next scheduled topic, and we’re talking about jealousy and it’s going to be good!
Love yourself a little more today~
