Hello Weekend! - A recent accomplishment

Happy Saturday my little network! I’ve been waiting for the weekend all week and I don’t know about any of you, but working yesterday just really was a struggle. A lot of the office was either on PTO or working from home which really gave the atmosphere a laid-back vibe which unfortunately did not stimulate a lot of work production from me anyway lol let’s answer today’s topic question before I give a recap of all things Saturday in the Stevens home.

A challenge that I overcame is always in progress. I continue to make big strides on my relationship with food, and very strangely in these past almost 18 weeks of being out of the running scene, I have actually been able to consume a lot of food without mentally beating myself up over it. I would have to say, though that probably one of the biggest reasons why I have not beat myself up too much, is the fact that my transformed diet has become something that has had more nutritional content in it than anything I’ve ever consumed before. I’ve talked about it on my newest video that I’ll be posting to my YouTube page, but my diet before getting hurt was very carb rich, but did not hold a lot of nutritional value. I think over the last 18 weeks my body has been really loving all of these extra vitamins and minerals that I’ve been missing out on and that alone is something that I can feel really proud of.

OK now let’s talk about today’s activities! The alarm went off early as always, and Matthew and I were in the kitchen fixing our coffee by 5 AM. Matthew had a very long run to do and of course I didn’t, so I did my weightlifting out in the garage which only took about 45 minutes and then I did a little bit of walking through the neighborhood and covered about 3 miles. Once I got back inside, I still had plenty of alone time in the house to spend in silence to focus on my book that no, I didn’t finish before Halloween lol i’m still trying to get this one finished before the weekend so I can turn my focus over to the book that I have by Matt Fitzgerald that focus on running strategies and the one that I’m really looking forward to reading which covers all the bases of nutrition for running performance. Those are two books that I really want to take my time getting into.
Once I had ample time to read, it is time to shower up and head to the nail salon, right as it opened! Thank you Salina nails for giving me an embrace of fall on my fingertips!
Made a healthy lunch at the house and then cleaned up to get ready to go down to Matt‘s parents Lakehouse to watch the Florida Georgia game. I don’t care about football tbh. Florida State University is where Matthew graduated twice and so that’s his team but since they’re not doing that great this year, he has better things to focus on. I’m so happy I married somebody levelheaded who doesn’t put all of his personality and happiness into a game lol Florida State is his alma mater and I definitely get how important it is to him sometimes, but he’s a well-rounded person and doesn’t take it personally when they lose thank goodness. Either way it’s been a great day to play with the nephews and spend time with Matt’s family.
